When my family arrived in a Spanish village quite late, we headed to the nearest cafe to eat something. We hadn't seen an ATM but had our card. When we got there, the cafe owner explained that the had no facilities to accept cards and there was not an ATM nearby. He told us not to worry - we could eat that evening and pay the next day. I thought that was such a lovely thing to do. It wasn't so much the providing of food when we were tired and hungry, It was the trust he placed in us. it made me feel really good about myself. Of course, we returned the next day, which is just as well...I don't think his wife was as trusting!
